New musical instruments!

Lots of exciting changes are happening with the little ones in the PM “art, music, and values” classes here in the creative expression program! Newly donated musical instruments by several support teams have allowed us to expand the afternoon music classes greatly, giving the kids the opportunity to use all kinds of fun new toys while at the same time learning about basic musical principles.

Because of a kind donation of hand percussion instruments and flutes by one support team, we can now teach about rhythm and the different instrument families with more ease and fun for the kids.

Another Support group donated these great music teaching tools. They are tunes plastic tubes called “Boomwhackers” which are hit against your knee to play a specific tone. This is a full 24-note set (three octives) so each student can use one as we teach about basic principles of scales and play songs as a group!
